Early Years and Primary Team

Gayle McKee | Principal of Primary School

"The International School of Milan is a community where everyone contributes to build and maintain a positive atmosphere which enables students to achieve their highest potential. From their very first day in school, the students have agency with their learning and are encouraged to let their natural curiosity guide them on the next steps of their educational journey. Once students start to believe in themselves, there is no telling where they could end up."

Sara Lomas | Deputy Principal - Early Years and PYP Curriculum Coordinator

"It is impossible to teach everything that there is to know about the world. Instead, at the ISM we nurture a love of learning and equip our students with the skills needed to find out what they do not know or understand. Our students are active participants of their own learning – they take initiative, express wonderings, make choices and are aware of their learning goals. Together with our families we build a community that nurtures agency, creativity and lifelong learning."

Secondary Team

Giuseppe Redaelli

Giuseppe Redaelli | Head of Secondary Academic, Deputy Principal

“All IB Programmes aim at developing internationally minded, inquiring young people, who understand the importance of the individual role each of us has to play in a growingly interconnected world. The IB Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme offer in this respect the perfect balance of an approach to teaching and learning based on inquiry and of a rigorous academic curriculum, meeting the entrance requirements of the best universities in the world. It is our role, our goal and our legacy, as teachers, to develop in our young students this academic rigour, the discipline and the passion of inquiry and the awareness of the importance of being an active member of the many communities they belong to”.

Lou Scott

Lou Scott | Head of Secondary Pastoral, Deputy Principal

“At IS Milan we firmly believe that education and health are inextricably linked and there is a strong positive correlation between wellbeing and achievement. Pastoral care is the provision we make to ensure the physical and emotional wellbeing of our students and is at the heart of everything we do. We value personal development as much as academic progress with every student a member of a school House and provided with a personal tutor. Teachers at ISM take pride in knowing their students and working closely with families to ensure the best possible educational outcomes whilst inspiring and nurturing global citizens”.
