INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE DIPLOMA
The IB Diploma is the culmination of academic achievement at ISM. We pride ourselves on the wide range of subjects and levels we make available and our results are at the forefront of schools around the world. Each of the six subjects taken in the Diploma is graded from 7 to 1 and the overall sum is combined to give a total score that incorporates further points earned in Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay.
The Diploma is awarded to students with at least 24 points, providing certain general conditions are met, and the maximum number of points earned in the Diploma is 45. A small number of students may take a seventh subject, although this does not contribute to the official IB Diploma score.
We at ISM are delighted with the results of our students this year in the IB Diploma examinations. Our truly non-selective cohort achieved superbly well, which was even more impressive given the difficulties faced by our students due to Covid-19.
All of our students have risen to the challenge achieving places at the best universities in the world, with one of our students achieving the highest score with 45 points.

LICENZA MEDIA
We encourage Italian families to ensure that their children obtain the Diploma conclusivo del primo ciclo d’istruzione (“Licenza Media”) qualification and preparation for this is incorporated as an integral part of education at ISM. Our mother-tongue Italian programmes in Primary and early Secondary Schools lead to this goal as the culmination of studies in Grade 9.

LICENZA ELEMENTARE
Even though the Licenza Elementare has been abolished in the state system, students from schools that do not follow the Italian national curriculum still need to obtain idoneità to qualify for entry into state secondary schools and to be admitted to Diploma del primo ciclo exams. That is why we continue to enable students to obtain idoneità at the end of grade 6.

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS’ ASSESSMENT (ISA)
The International Schools' Assessment (ISA) is designed for students in Grades 3–10 in international schools and schools with an international focus. The program offers assessments for Mathematical Literacy, Scientific Literacy, Reading and Writing.
The ISA required students to sit written papers in 4 areas: Mathematical Literacy, Reading, Written Narrative & Written Argument. The students completed their papers over 2 mornings and then the papers were packaged up and shipped back to Australia for marking. The ISA is designed to help the school to ensure that our standards in the 4 key areas are on par with (or better than) other international schools around the world.
